Giving to the Black Studies Program

The contributions of former students, faculty and friends of the Black Studies Program helps to make a difference for our students and faculty and the continued strength and vibrancy of Black Studies at the University of Missouri.

A donation to any of the endowments and scholarships that are affiliated with the Black Studies Program can support student research, increase the special collections holdings in our resource center, and endow distinguished professors of African American history.

Please consider giving to the Black Studies Program by contributing funds to one of our four endowments/scholarships:

  1. The James S. Rollins Slavery Atonement Endowment;
  2. The Walter C. Daniel Endowment;
  3. The Arvarh E. Strickland Distinguished Professorship in African-American History and Culture Endowment; and,
  4. The Julius E. Thompson Student Scholarship Fund (housed in the Department of History – announced by the Black Studies Program).
