Call for Black Studies Faculty Affiliate Status

The Black Studies Program Faculty Affiliate Status is available to all regular University of Missouri faculty engaged in research, teaching, and service centered on the experiences and initiatives of people of African descent in Africa, the United States, or the Diaspora.

Interested faculty are asked to submit a letter of application describing their scholarship and teaching in relation to Black Studies, an updated vitae, and syllabi that have been cross-listed with Black Studies and/or syllabi for potential cross-listed courses.

All Black Studies Program faculty affiliates are requested and strongly encouraged to teach at least one cross-listed course every two years.

Final decisions regarding Black Studies Program Faculty Affiliate status reside with the Black Studies Program Executive Committee.

Interested faculty are asked to submit a letter of application that describes their scholarship/teaching in relation to Black Studies along with an updated vitae and relevant syllabi for potential cross-listing. We encourage new ideas, new courses, and new outreach.

Letters, vitae, and syllabi may be submitted either electronically or in hard copy. If submitting electronically, please send to Dr. David L. Brunsma (brunsmad@missouri.edu). If you would prefer to submit hard copies by campus mail, send to Dr. Brunsma’s attention: Black Studies Program, 313 Gentry Hall.
