Research Programs and Funding

Heartland Alliance for Minority Participation is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary program designed to significantly increase the quantity and the quality of underrepresented students who receive baccalaureate and graduate degrees in science, mathematics, engineering and technology.

Missouri Alliance for Education and the Professoriate formerly the MGEP, was established by the National Science Foundation to significantly increase the number of African American, Hispanic and Native American students receiving doctoral degrees in sciences, mathematics and engineering (SME).

Minority Student Funding Programs from the graduate school. Includes a comprehensive listing of Graduate and Doctoral Fellowships in a wide variety of academic areas.

Fellowship Resources from the MU Biotech web site. Includes information on the Gus T. Ridgel Fellowship, the Thurgood Marshall Scholars Program and more.

The Smithsonian Institute Minority Student Internship Program offers a number of opportunities to increase participation of minority groups who are underrepresented in Smithsonian scholarly programs, in the disciplines of research conducted at the Institution, and in the museum field.

Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service - The purpose of this competitive undergraduate scholarships grants program is to increase the multicultural diversity of the food and agricultural scientific and professional workforce, and advance the educational achievement of all Americans.
