Research
The Black Studies Program is the central location at the University of Missouri for research on the experiences of African peoples on the continent of Africa and in other parts of the world.
As MU is one of only 34 public U.S. universities, and the only public institution in Missouri, to be selected for membership in the Association of American Universities and designated “Doctoral/Research Extensive” by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, the Black Studies Program likely seeks to promote the research, publication, teaching, and service objectives of scholars, students, and interested people in the field.
