Celebrating Black Joy and Love is an event that involves dialogues, games, and music that promote and foster Black Joy and love among the MU community. By featuring and focusing on Black love and joy, we are inviting the campus to build stronger bonds, learn about ways to celebrate Blackness, and come together to appreciate one another.

The event starts off with small and large group conversations and discussions around the concept of Black Joy (What comprises Black joy? How do we embrace Black joy? etc.). These conversations will allow participants to share their thoughts, provide creative renditions of Black joy, and begin to think about how to celebrate and prioritize joy even when times are difficult.

After the discussion, there will be approximately 45 minutes of "Black Joy and Love" trivia games through Kahoot, where people can compete to receive prizes. The event will end with a 30 min live concert where participants can end their night listening to soulful music about Black love and Black joy. Throughout the event, we will do giveaways as a way to keep the crowd engaged.

Event organizers are Drs. Antoinette Landor and Terrell Morton.
