Graduate Student Minor In Black Studies

Graduate students can earn a graduate minor in Black Studies by completing 15 credit hours. A plan of study form must be completed by the student and signed by their advisor and the chair of Black Studies. Black Studies Graduate Minor Requirements

A student must complete a minimum of fifteen (15) credit hours to earn a graduate minor in Black Studies.

There are six specifically required credit hours:

  • BL_STU 8001: Graduate Seminar in Black Studies
  • BL_STU 8000: Independent Readings in Black Studies

The remaining nine (9) credit hours may be satisfied by selecting courses from the Black Studies graduate catalog. Courses from other departments may be substituted in consultation with your graduate advisor. (Credit will be given only when offered with appropriate topics):
